Email features are not working

Question

I read the other posts and none of the suggestions fixed the problem. My host looked at it and said there is a problem with the script and to ask the developers to fix it.

They tried both the php and the smpt. None worked. Can you please help me fix it or update the script?

The email sending feature in the script should be working properly. Generally, we test the registration process before releasing the script, and there are no issues with it.

If you are using SMTP, try to test the email delivery using the Test Sending feature located in the General Settings page, Account tab, to see if any errors are displayed.

Yes, I have been using the testing feature. This is the error message:  SMTP connect() failed.

@eximanshu Did you use the SMTP from your hosting company? My host gave me many port numbers with or without SSL or just general and none of them worked worked. 

@AmazeGo When I send an email to the email address I am using for the site(from regular personal Gmail to my site email address), I get the email. However, it does not work on the site when someone uses the contact form(for example).

You can use google smtp settings ..... try google port 465.

Try to see youtube videos on how to setup smtp server for google . Use latest procedures of google smtp server configuration . Its very simple . Just you need

PORT : 465

HOST : smtp.gmail.com

USER NAME

PASSWORD :

Surely it will work .

Thank @eximanshu for trying to help. However, it still did not work. I will call you tomorrow. I also copied and pasted my email password 3 times to sure, ensuring no extra spaces... still nothing. I also tried the TLS port of 587.
