Earnings or commissions are not getting generated

Question

I have a unilevel plan with 1 level depth. I set personal referral commission to 40 and level commission to 10 but for some reason personal referral commission and level commission are not being updated. I have tried the following in hopes of fixing the issue:

1) Reinstalling 

2) Purging the test data

But nothing seem to fix the issue. It's been almost a month trying to fix this issue by myself, so I beg you kindly look into it.

Changing the statuses manually will not trigger and process the commission. You can approve member payment and activate their account in a simple way by clicking the Manual Approval button on the Member Profile page.

We approve their transactions through the transaction tab and activate their account from the manage member - update option.

It would have been good if you guys had included this on the Documentation. All the trouble could have been avoided. But anyway it fixed the issue. Thanks.
