what's the differences between this in General Settings -> Members

Question

What is the different of these two settings?
(1) if I allow member to register their referrals? and Made Visitor Referrer as OPTIONAL instead of Mandatory?
(2) by the way, is your word "Referral" and "Referrer" same meaning? If not, what's the different of these two? and also what's the differences of these two words (ReferrAL  and  ReferrER ) with the word Sponsor?
(3) What if I disallowed Member to register their Referrals but Make Visitor Referrer as Mandatory??

I am confused by these two settings :

"Allow Member to Register Their Referrals".   AND
VISITOR Referrer --> Mandatory

Hello,

The referrer is the original sponsor or member who refers others to register or buy products, while the referral is similar to a downline, which are people who register under the referrer or sponsor. Please note, in certain network marketing plans, the referrer may not be the same as the sponsor when a rollover occurs.
